Boys & Girls Club of Southeastern Michigan
Client Overview
For close to 100 years the Boys and Girls Club of Southeastern Michigan has been committed to serving youth, families, and communities around them. Each year, they serve over 15,000 young people, ages 6 to 18.
In 2021, they launched the "Reimagine BGCSM" with the purpose of increasing their impact, reaching more youth, and becoming true change agents within the community. Their innovative programming is designed to engage youth while focusing on skill development, confidence-building, and overall wellness, all with the goal of fostering economic mobility through technology, entrepreneurship, fashion, sports, and more.
NxGen COACH Network™ facilitated a half-day Leadership workshop for senior leaders of the Boys and Girls Club of Southeastern Michigan. Grounded in our Leadership Capital Framework, this workshop focused on harnessing the organization’s greatest asset – its people. Together, we explored how to better leverage each person’s superpower and culture in conjunction with their shared vision of delivering innovative programming for children, driving economic mobility, and empowering BGCSM members and their community.
Through individual and team exercises, participants explored the 5 Cs of the Leadership Capital Framework—Capability, Culture, Communication, Connection, and Confidence—to develop actionable strategies for collectively leveraging these pillars to achieve both individual and organizational goals.
The Leadership Capital Framework can be found in The Treasure You Seek: A Guide to Developing and Leveraging Your Leadership Capital" by Archie L. Jones, Jr.
