NxGen COACH Network™ has a Joint Venture with Elev8 Foundation committed to provide economic development and access to quality education and healthcare services to populations in The Gambia and sub-Saharan Africa.
Project Overview
Smart Kids Academy
In Sanchi Muttel, located in the North Bank Region of The Gambia, the majority of children who are able to attend school walked miles on roads that are not safe for young children to get to school.
The Smart Kids Academy (SKA), located in Sanchi Muttel, was established in 2016 after a child experienced a horrific accident while walking to school. Mr. Ebrima Njie, Founder of SKA vowed to do his part to create a safe learning environment for the children in his community and simultaneously contribute to the greater agricultural community.
In 2022 the Elev8 Foundation learned that SKA needed a borehole (water well) so that students had clean drinking water. After learning more about SKA, the students and their exceptional progress, Elev8 raised funds as part of the Joint Venture between NxGen COACH Network™ and the Elev8 Foundation to provide the borehole.
In 2023, SKA students achieved the highest standardized scores in the region, outperforming state-funded schools. However, many nearing secondary school faced challenges due to limited classroom space. To ensure continuity and maintain educational quality, NxGen COACH Network™ and Elev8 Foundation partnered with SKA to address this need.
In 2024, NxGen COACH Network™ and Elev8 Foundation completed and inaugurated the Smart Kids Academy Jr. Secondary School in Sanchi Muttel, North Bank Region, The Gambia. The school now serves 323 students (154 boys and 169 girls), ensuring access to quality education.
